Advice You May Get From A Greek

(I do not necessarily endorse all of these. Just wanted to give some perspective!):

>>Stop signs are optional and road rules have ‘degrees’ of illegality.
>>It is less acceptable to make noise mid-afternoon than midnight.
>>Dress to impress, even during the day.
>>A/C will give you a cold.
>>Get used to loud house music, sweets and coffee.
>>Staring is okay. Fixating is not.
>>No mobile phones while pumping gas but cigaretters are okay.
>>Wait 2+ hours after eating or you will drown swimming.
>>Honking your horn is not rude, it is obligatory.
>>You should shake your hand when holding an open hand.
>>Non-Smoking signs only apply to tourists not Greeks.
>>Tipping is optional and usually involves just change.
>>Staying up until dawn is not only acceptable but sometimes encouraged by older generations.
>>If you are handicapped: good luck getting around!
>>Departure gates are subject to change at any time, pay attention to men yelling garbled messages.
>>Fight your way out of trains, buses or elevators – there is no courtesy wait.
>>You will get cut in line, pay attention.
>>The emergency lane is a valid line to drive in or straddle.
